71% of Egyptians believe there are not enough job opportunities
60% of the Egyptian people believe that the economic situation has become worse since last year, according to a study conducted by the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC).
Dr. Hatem ElKady, head of the IDSC, revealed in an interview with local newspaper AlAhram, that this percentage has increased about 13% since February 2011.
The IDSC is the “Think Tank” of the Egyptian Cabinet and regularly conducts researches and questionnaires about the Egyptian public opinion.
On the other hand, 14% of Egyptians think that their economic situation has improved in the past year, compared to only 6% in February 2011.
Additionally, 71% of Egyptians believe there are not enough job opportunities at the moment.
ElKady confirmed to AlAhram that the IDSC would not carry out any polls concerning the presidential elections and candidates, in order to maintain its neutral, unbiased position.
The coming researches will deal with subsidies, unemployment, food security, and social security, in an effort to find short- and long-term alternatives for these problems and help the authorities in solving them.
