Fair Trade Egypt (FTE), born in 1998, is a small size local Fair Trade company that aims to empower local communities by offering disadvantaged artisans marketing and support services. FTE promotes the application of Fair Trade principles as a cultural, social and environmentally responsible business ideal.

As FTE fully adheres to the principles prescribed by the practice of Fair Trade, FTE is a member of WFTO, the World Fair Trade Organization, and the Cooperation of Fair Trade in Africa. It is has also co-founded a foundation under the name “Egyptian Hands” (EH) to provide support services to the Egyptians artisans as well as enable more Fair Trade advocacy and awareness building in Egypt.

SUMMARY OF PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS
The Operations Supervisor (OS) assumes overall responsibility of the company day-to-day operational activities and accounts and so results of the business. This includes planning and monitoring functions of accounting and all that has to do with product movements (purchasing, stock and orders coordinators). The job includes supervision of staff members in these functions.
Operations Supervisor should be detail but also results oriented.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Main tasks include but not limited to:
- Accounting related:
- Responsible of accounting audits & revisions;
- Reviews relevant financial indicators & prepares financial reporting, statements, and special reports;
- Ensures timely and accurate liabilities payments and collections.

- Supply chain related:
The OS is responsible of anything that has to do with the products of the company. Specifically, inventory control, maintaining and exceeding quality standards, employee management, ensuring responsible staff stay on budget, warehousing, moving products out in a timely manner, installing systems, rules and regulations to make the organization run smoother and more efficiently, as well as removing bottlenecks from one segment of the operation which might impede the productivity of another.

- The OS should supervise and ensure that all sales orders received by FTE (retail, wholesale and export) are efficiently delivered. This includes directing & monitoring the process of procurement planning, inventory control, logistics and distribution ensuring that every step of the process is functioning effectively to avoid costly delays and lost sales opportunities.
- Resolves any purchasing or stock related problems that might affect smooth processes & deliveries.
- Proposes and implements necessary developments for supply chain internal processes, procedures and systems matching with the business expansion plan. This includes developments related to software upgrade, coding system development, stocking expansions, etc;

General responsibilities:
- The OS will train, develop, mentor and assist his/her subordinates in all functions related to the operations;
- Is responsible for serving as an information conduit to the GM, so providing regularly status updates & reports to the GM is key.
- The OS would not be responsible for business development, opening new marketing channels or direct sales. However, the OS's competence directly impacts the other business divisions of the company.
- Cost reduction and process improvement is an ongoing requirement of the OS for both the supply chain and accounting functions in order to produce the most efficient results (time, cost and techniques).
- Evaluate the performance subordinates in all functions related to the operations and assist in recruitment activities for this area.
- Reports to & replaces General Manager during absence;

KEY QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCES)
? A minimum of 4 & no more than 7 years of experience preferably in financial management;
? Good communication and people management skills;
? Organized & gives good attention to details;
? Good problem solving and use of independent judgement;
? Fluency of Arabic & Good written English;
? Takes initiatives, self driven & result oriented;
? Experienced user of Word, Excel and standard internet applications (research, e-mail messaging etc);
? Ability to travel occasionally within Egypt as per the needs of the post;
? Affiliation with Fair Trade philosophy and interest in social development
