"We shipped our first container of Egyptian watermelons to the European market"

The watermelon season typically begins in May, but fresh harvests keep coming until late July.

Spanish producers said Egyptian garlic entered the European market ahead of the local harvest season at an average price of €1.5/kg (US$1.71/kg).

PEI Trade reported its highest shipment volume, container count, and destination coverage during the campaign through its Nile Prime orange brand.

The search for more productive varieties with better flavor and earlier harvest windows is accelerating the adoption of new breeding programs.

Peru approved imports of Egyptian oranges, while Panama opened its market to Egyptian grapes and strawberry seedlings. Mexico also approved.
