President of the Egyptian community in Milan and owner of a plastic product factory, Mahmoud Osman, was shocked when he found out customs authorities prevented a shipment of garbage bags his factory exports to Milan city annually for €60 million (U.S. $84.8 million). According to Osman, there is no logical reason to make Milan city threaten to cancel his contract and force him to pay daily fines reaching €60,000 (U.S. $85,000) daily.

Osman told Youm7 he received a call from his factory administration in Egypt to inform him customs authorities kept his shipment in the commercial ship from sailing to Italy, claiming exportation papers are not complete.

Osman said his factory made a contract with Milan city to export garbage bags for after his products were proven to be with high quality and low prices for a year. He is the first Egyptian to export plastic products to Italy.
