20.08.11

Johnson Controls, the global leader in delivering solutions that increase energy efficiency in buildings, has announced that it has signed a partnership deal with Shams Group and Tiba Engineering Industries of Egypt.

Through these partnerships the company aims to strengthen and expand its offerings in Egypt as well as in other African markets to address growing demands for energy efficient solutions there.
Magdy Mekky Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI)’s vice president and managing director for the Middle East, said that, “Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI) has a long association with Egypt, where York ammonia refrigeration units were available as far back as the early 1900s.

Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI)’ 2005 acquisition of York enabled it to offer end-to-end solutions that reduce operating costs, increase productivity and ensure rapid return on investment. Our partnerships with the Shams Group and Tiba Engineering Industries are the logical next steps for expansion in the region and for providing our customers with additional quality products and service. Shams Group will use its network to expand our sales reach in the region and Tiba Engineering Industries will extend Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI)’ research and development, product design and manufacturing capabilities. Egypt’s mature market and the available technical competence will provide a base for Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI) to expand into the African continent”.
