European investment Bank supports electricity projects in Egypt

Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Energy, Hassan Younis, met with the delegation from the European Investment Bank to discuss the Bank’s activities in the electricity sector during the next stage.

The delegation said the Bank will continue to support projects in the electricity sector, scheduled in the program of bilateral cooperation. The delegation also expressed the bank's will to support the Egyptian post-revolution, especially in the electricity sector, which represents the trailer of development.

Younis said the bank is one of the most important sources to finance projects and generate electricity from wind or sun, to enable the national net to transfer the produced energy from windmills.

The minister revealed the work plan and set a schedule of existing projects that the bank financed by U.S. $610 million. He also thanked the delegation for its distinguished contribution and support for many projects in the electricity sector.
