Egypt intends to export gas to Turkey, Turkish Energy Minister Taner Ildyz said, according to Neft i Kapital.

Relations between Israel and Egypt which supplies gas to Tel-Aviv have significantly worsened since the Mubarak regime was toppled and experts believe this could lead to lower volumes supplied from Egypt.

Turkey could decide to purchase Egyptian volumes not sent to Israel.

Ankara has contracts for gas supplies from Russia (30 billion cubic meters), Algeria (4 billion cubic meters), Nigeria (1.2 billion cubic meters), Iran (10 billion cubic meters) and Azerbaijan ( 6.6 billion cubic meters).
