Egypt FM to participate in Paris conference on Libya

Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr will head the Egyptian delegation that will participate in Paris conference on Libya. The international conference regarding the situation in Libya will be held in the French capital next Thursday 1/9/2011.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Amr Roshdi said on 30/8/2011 that Egypt will confirm its support for the return of stability and security in Libya.

He also said Egypt will emphasize that all the current Libyan parties must have the vision to cooperate together to reestablish the Libyan state, and to realize prosperity and progress in Libya.

Roshdi said the international conference aims to achieve three points regarding the situation in Libya: secure international recognition of Libya’s National Transitional Council as the legitimate representative of Libya after the February 17 Revolution; study the means to confront security challenges in Libya; and release frozen Libyan assets abroad so they can be used in reconstruction.
