EGX30's first rise since July 17

Egypt’s benchmark EGX 30 Index (EGX30) had its first gain since July 17, increasing 0.3 percent to 5,035.63, as of the 2:30 p.m. close in Cairo.

The following shares rose or fell. Symbols are in parentheses.

Delta Sugar (SUGR EY) advanced for a second day, increasing 2.8 percent to 21.61 Egyptian pounds. Egypt’s Sugar & Integrated Industries Co. plans to tender for 100,000 metric tons of raw sugar in two phases starting this week, Al Mal newspaper reported, citing the company’s Chairman Hassan Kamel.

Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC EY) rose the most since July 20, adding 1 percent to 261.28 pounds. The International Finance Corp. said it will buy shares in Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC), Egypt’s biggest publicly traded builder, and lend the company money.
