Anan: SCAF faces economic crisis and soaring prices
CAIRO – Egypt's Chief of Staff Sami Anan said on Monday that the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) is facing several challenges, the official Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.
The chief of the staff highlighted the important role of the the police, adding that security is vital for the country's stability.
Anan added that the economic crisis and soaring prices are also among these challenges.
Anan warned against deteriorating economic conditions due to the lack of security, pointing out that the SCAF and the government are working together to relieve the financial pressure.
He called on people to halt protests and road blocking in order to upgrade production and revive Egypt's economy.
