Brazil Joins US, Canada, and UK Travelers as Egypt Raises Visa-On-Arrival Fees, Impacting Group Tours, Leisure Vacations

Egypt increases visa-on-arrival fees for Brazilian, American, Canadian, and British tourists impacting leisure and business travel costs.

Brazilian tourists and business travelers heading to Egypt are now facing slightly higher costs at arrival, as the country’s visa-on-arrival fee for 30-day stays has increased from USD 25 to USD 30 as of March 1, 2026.

Though the additional USD 5 might appear minor, the impact can be significant for group  travel packages, particularly for corporate incentive trips or large tour groups arriving in Cairo, Hurghada, or Sharm el-Sheikh.

Brazilian arrivals have rebounded to approximately 80% of pre-pandemic levels, fueled by strong interest in Egypt’s iconic archaeological sites, well-connected flights via Istanbul and Dubai, and competitive tour pricing.

Travel managers and corporate mobility planners now need to adjust per-diems and cash-advance systems to accommodate the new fee, while leisure travelers may need to check whether their visa costs are included in tour packages or need to be paid on arrival.

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism has implemented a five-dollar increase for the 30-day visa-on-arrival, raising it to USD 30. While the change may seem modest for individual travelers, large tour groups can see a noticeable uptick in total expenses.
