Work Contract

Egypt’s Ministry of Labour launched a pilot electronic application to manage appointment bookings for notarizing overseas employment contracts and attending job interviews at the Egyptian Overseas Employment Services Unit ( وحدة خدمات العمالة المصرية بالخارج). This aims to improve organization while reducing overcrowding at service centers.

Through the new platform, users can schedule appointments for notarizing work contracts issued either by the ministry or through other authorized entities. Thus, it intends to simplify procedures and accelerate service delivery.

Digitizing Services

The digital tool is part of wider efforts to modernize government services. In recent years, Egypt has accelerated digital transformation across public institutions to streamline procedures and improve transparency.

The ministry indicates that the application will enter a one month pilot phase. During this period, electronic bookings and traditional paper-based procedures will operate in parallel. This approach allows authorities to maintain service continuity while testing the technical performance of the platform.

By running both systems simultaneously, it allows for a smooth transition into the digital system. It will also enable monitoring the system for technical and administrative efficiency. Additionally, it will allow for feedback from citizens and staff ahead of its full launch in the coming period. The move reflects a broader shift toward the digital transformation and modernization of government services.
