How the Egyptian Tourism Authority is Winning Over Travelers at Major Exhibitions

The move marks a strategic step in expanding Egypt’s visibility and tourism potential in Central and Eastern Europe.

Egypt has strengthened its international tourism efforts by participating in two major tourism exhibitions in Hungary and Serbia. These exhibitions, held in Budapest and Belgrade, provided a platform for the Egyptian Tourism Authority (ETA) to showcase the country’s rich heritage and vibrant tourist offerings to a growing market of Hungarian and Serbian travelers. The move marks a strategic step in expanding Egypt’s visibility and tourism potential in Central and Eastern Europe. With rising demand for travel to Egypt from both countries, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the ETA, is eager to engage with international travel agents, airlines, and operators to discuss opportunities for future collaborations.

Fostering Stronger Connections with Hungarian and Serbian Tourists

At the Hung Expo International Tourism Exhibition in Budapest, Egypt’s tourism sector was prominently displayed through an engaging pavilion. The Egyptian pavilion, covering 50 square meters, hosted representatives from local hotels, travel agencies, and airlines, making a lasting impact on attendees. The opening ceremony was graced by the Egyptian Ambassador to Hungary, Ahmed Fahmy, who was joined by a delegation of Egyptian tourism officials. The exhibition saw over 30 countries participating, with around 27,000 professionals in attendance. Egypt’s involvement at the event included engaging in multiple professional meetings with Hungarian tour operators and travel agencies to discuss ways of boosting tourist arrivals to the North African destination.
