The ministry said it is closely monitoring developments and their potential impact on domestic energy supply. It emphasized that sources are diversified and alternative capacities are in place to maintain stability.

Throughout 2025, the ministry secured additional liquefied natural gas (LNG) volumes to meet the needs of electricity generation, industry, and households. Measures included diversifying import sources, contracting LNG cargoes from multiple suppliers, concluding long-term agreements with international companies, and operating regasification vessels at Egyptian ports.

Domestic production has also been supported through regular payments to exploration and production partners, the ministry said, ensuring continued output and operational flexibility. Coordinated planning with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy is in place to guarantee a rapid response to any supply disruptions.

On petroleum products, authorities said they have raised refinery output, carried out maintenance to ensure efficiency, optimized storage capacity, and built safe strategic reserves of gasoline, diesel, butane, and other fuels. These steps aim to stabilize the market and ensure continuous availability in case of emergencies.

The announcement followed Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly’s meeting with Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi on Saturday to review reserves and supply stability.
