Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli affirmed that Egypt’s civil aviation sector is a crucial component of the nation’s soft power and a key driver for increasing global tourism movement to and from the country.

He noted that achieving the goal of 30 million tourists annually requires a robust, modern aviation system capable of accommodating expected growth in travel.

During a ceremony marking the addition of the first Airbus A350-900 to EgyptAir’s fleet, Madbouli emphasized the government's commitment to the comprehensive development of civil aviation as a pillar of economic support and Egypt's regional and global position.

He highlighted that the long-range Airbus A350-900 will enable direct flights to the farthest points in the US, and North and East Asia, enhancing EgyptAir's ability to expand into new markets and increase its global competitiveness.

The Prime Minister also cited the ongoing efforts to modernize airports’ infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and enhance human resources in light of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s vision for the sector. This includes the development of Cairo International Airport, which recently achieved a record 111,200 passengers in a single day.

Madbouli underlined the importance of partnerships with global companies specialized in airport management and operations, aiming to meet the highest operational and governance standards while improving service quality and punctuality.

The premier highlighted the pilot project to replace paper boarding passes with digital systems, which will enhance the travel experience from arrival to departure.

The Prime Minister lauded great efforts of all workers in the civil aviation sector who contribute to implementing development plans and reiterated the government’s continued support for this vital sector, which plays a crucial role in bolstering Egypt’s economy and tourism industry.
