Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan al-Khatib confirmed on Thursday, January 22, 2026, the government’s commitment to supporting and expanding the investments of the global company Saint-Gobain in the Egyptian market.

This came during his meeting with company officials on the sidelines of his participation in the World Economic Forum (Davos) in Switzerland where both sides discussed opportunities to strengthen existing investments and expansion plans in the fields of building materials and sustainable solutions.

Khatib said that the government welcomes Saint-Gobain’s expansion plans, particularly the establishment of a second flat glass production line.

He emphasized the country’s appreciation for the large investments made by the company since it started operations in Egypt in 2008, noting that these investments demonstrate the confidence of international investors in the Egyptian economy and the stability of the investment environment.

Khatib underscored the importance of boosting industrial exports, pointing out that transforming Egypt into a regional hub for production and export is a central pillar of the state’s investment strategy.
