Under the decision, $80 will be cut from the fee charged for mechanisation and data auditing procedures conducted via the electronic platform and its related e-services, bringing the total cost down to $95 per inbound air shipment. The fee reduction will apply for a six-month period starting Thursday, 1 January 2026.

The move comes as Egypt begins the mandatory implementation of the ACI system for air cargo shipments, also effective from Thursday, 1 January 2026, following a proposal submitted by Ahmed Amwi, head of the Egyptian Customs Authority.

Kouchouk said the government remains committed to dealing with business community partners with greater flexibility and simplification, while continuing to strengthen governance frameworks.

He added that the ACI system plays a key role in regulating the Egyptian market and ensuring the entry of high-quality, standards-compliant goods, helping to boost competition in favour of consumers and support national industry.

The system is adopted in Egypt’s seaport, with more than 2.5 million customs release certificates already issued till November. The system has helped, so far, cut document authentication costs abroad, ease burdens on businesses, and prevent shipment rejections stem from non-compliance with import specifications.
