Egypt’s textile and garment exports climbed to their highest level in the first 10 months of this year following the completion of expansion projects in several factories.

Egypt’s textile and garment exports rose to a record level in the first 10 months of this year, helped by recent expansion projects at several factories.

The US emerged as the largest market for Egypt’s clothing products, with a value of around $1.08 billion. Saudi Arabia and Turkey recorded the highest growth in imports from Egypt during that period, according to the Apparel Export Council of Egypt.

Exports of textiles and ready-made garment exports rose to nearly $2.8 billion during January to October this year, from about $2.3 billion in the same period of 2024, the council said.

Its chairman Fadel Marzouk said the increase was a result of investment in expanding the country’s apparel industry over the past two years. “These projects boosted production capacity and quality of the products,” he said .

In comments on the council’s website, Marzouk said there is a target to boost textile and clothes exports by nearly 30 percent next year, targeting Turkey, the US and Europe.

Exports to Turkey soared by 71 percent to $321 million while those to Saudi Arabia, the third largest market, jumped by nearly 100 percent, Marzouk said.
