Deputy Foreign Minister Haris Theocharis led a delegation of 20 major Greek companies and inaugurated the Building Bridges for Shared Prosperity business and investment forum.

Theocharis underlined the strategic weight of Egyptian-Greek relations, citing longstanding cooperation in the economic, energy, defence, and cultural fields. He said Athens is seeking to deepen ties through new initiatives that build on the two countries’ complementary strengths.

The Cairo forum included business-to-business meetings between Greek and Egyptian firms, highlighting broad opportunities for collaboration across multiple sectors.

During the visit, Theocharis held talks with Egypt’s Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Mohamed El-Gawsaky, General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Vice-President Yasser Abbas, and European Union (EU) Ambassador Angelina Eichhorst. Discussions focused on strengthening economic cooperation and facilitating private-sector partnerships.

The mission was organized by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Greek Exporters Association, the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, and Enterprise Greece, in coordination with the Greek Embassy in Cairo, the Hellenic Confederation of Greek Industries Office in Cairo, and Egypt’s GAFI.

The delegation included companies from the food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, ICT, construction, environmental services, energy, medical equipment, and defence sectors.
