President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi urged boosting cooperation between Egypt and the Republic of Korea in different fields, especially in the areas of artificial intelligence, communications, and information technology.

President Sisi made the remarks during a joint press conference with President Lee Jae Myung of the Republic of Korea following their talks at the Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo.

President Sisi called on the Korean business sector to establish petrochemical production factories in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).

The president also encouraged Korean companies specialized in auto manufacturing and shipbuilding to expand their presence in Egypt, through establishing additional factories and taking advantage of the investment incentives offered by the Egyptian government in the two industries

President Sisi said: “We also positively discussed the proposal to establish a Korean university specialized in science and technology in Egypt, in addition to exploring the possibility of opening Korean schools in Egypt, with the aim of transferring the educational experience and exchanging expertise.”

“Today, we witnessed the signing of two memoranda of understanding between our two countries in the fields of culture and education”, he added.
