Egypt is poised to inaugurate the first fully-integrated medical tourism investment zone, a prominent ‘first’ for the nation, as it endeavours to become an industry leader in health and wellness tourism. Operational by May of 2026, the zone aims to capitalize on Egypt’s unique cultural and historical targeted marketing whilst expanding the scope of healthcare access to international customers seeking medical wellness tourism. This initiative is aimed, as all of Egypt’s ongoing medical tourism initiatives are, at diversifying Egypt’s tourism product mix while improving the global competitiveness of Egypt’s healthcare industry.

The new medical tourism investment zone will be located in Giza Governorate, on the banks of the Nile, offering a scenic and serene environment for visitors. Spanning 40 feddans (approximately 168,000 square meters), this zone will be strategically positioned to provide easy access to Egypt’s capital, Cairo, and other key cultural and historical landmarks. The proximity to major tourist attractions, including the Pyramids of Giza, will enhance the overall appeal of the destination for those seeking both medical treatments and cultural exploration.

The medical tourism zone is set to play a key role in Egypt’s growing health and wellness sector, which has seen increasing interest from both domestic and international travelers. By leveraging the country’s healthcare advancements and its rich cultural heritage, the zone will offer a unique blend of services, including medical treatments, wellness programs, and rejuvenation therapies, all set against the backdrop of Egypt’s iconic landscapes.
