NVL Egypt starts production phase for ten new coastal protection boats

NVL Egypt, a subsidiary of NVL, commenced production of its PV43-M naval vessel program in Egypt in September, as planned. According to a statement from NVL, the program will produce ten new coastal protection vessels designed for surveillance and reconnaissance missions, as well as for the protection of critical maritime infrastructure. These vessels are being built in cooperation with the Egyptian shipyard Alexandria Shipyard.

The 43-meter-long units will reportedly be equipped with state-of-the-art weapon systems from European defense companies. Furthermore, NVL Egypt was selected by the Arab Republic of Egypt as the prime contractor for the program in 2023.

Furthermore, the program represents a strategic milestone in strengthening the Egyptian naval forces, as the ten naval vessels will be built entirely in Egypt in cooperation with a local shipyard partner and with technical support from the German parent company NVL.
