TUI River Cruises is expanding its Egyptian excursion programme with six new products, which include a visit to the famous Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan and a trip to the pyramids in Giza.

New ship drives programme growth

With the brand's second river cruise ship, TUI Bahareya, set to make its maiden voyage down the River Nile in November, the six new excursions from TUI River Cruises River Cruise Collection aim to provide more choice and flexibility in exploring Egypt’s ancient wonders.

Katy Berzins, head of river cruise, TUI River Cruises said, 'With an ever-growing interest in ancient Egypt and a clear appetite for deeper cultural exploration, we're expanding our excursion programme to offer even more unique experiences along and beyond the River Nile.’

Berzins continued, 'Customers travelling aboard our Egyptian fleet, TUI Al Horeya and TUI Bahareya, can now enjoy a wider range of cultural highlights...this enhanced programme brings greater flexibility and choice for those holidaying with us during the winter 2025 season.'

New in Aswan

The Old Cataract Hotel has hosted notable figures including author Agatha Christie and the UK's World War II prime minister Winston Churchill. As part of the 'Sunset tea at the Old Cataract Hotel,' visitors are served traditional afternoon tea on the terrace overlooking the Nile and Elephantine Island. The lunch comprises a selection of premium teas, pastries, finger sandwiches and local delicacies.
