Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib, met with senior officials from Boeing at the Egyptian Embassy in Washington, D.C., to discuss expanding cooperation in the aviation and air transport sectors. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Group annual meetings, the ministry announced on Monday.

El-Khatib highlighted the government’s efforts to link the aviation sector with tourism, trade, and logistics, in line with Egypt’s broader strategy to become a regional hub for aviation and cross-continental services. He emphasized that attracting global leaders in technology, digital transformation, and advanced infrastructure remains a top national priority.

The minister described the partnership between Egypt and Boeing as a model of international collaboration driven by knowledge and innovation, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to expanding this cooperation to stimulate investment and enhance the country’s global competitiveness.

For their part, Boeing representatives expressed readiness to deepen collaboration with Egypt in the coming period, particularly in developing air transport systems and commercial cargo operations.
