Tiktok Removed 2.9 Million Videos in Egypt in 2025
TikTok has revealed that it removed 2.9 million videos in Egypt between January and March 2025 for breaching its Community Guidelines, according to the platform’s newly released Q1 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.
According to the report, Egypt recorded a proactive removal rate of 99.6%, meaning that almost all harmful content was identified and removed before user reports. The report also noted that 94.3% of violative content in Egypt was removed within 24 hours.
TikTok’s enforcement actions in Egypt during this period also included banning 347,935 LIVE hosts and interrupting 587,246 livestreams for Community Guidelines violations.
The report added that 144,605 videos in Egypt were restored following successful appeals, as part of the platform’s process for reviewing content removal decisions.
The company says these measures are part of its broader push to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive online space, combining advanced AI moderation tools with human review, while continuing to engage users through digital literacy and safety initiatives.
Regionally, TikTok reported removing over 16.5 million videos across Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, the UAE, and Morocco in Q1 2025, with high proactive removal rates in all countries and millions of LIVE videos, hosts, and livestreams restricted for violating the platform’s rules.
