Egypt, Vietnam Forge New Path for Economic Collaboration with Strategic MoU
Egypt’s Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation has formalized a new partnership with Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing economic cooperation between the two nations.
The agreement underscores the shared belief that collaboration is a key driver for social and economic advancement. Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to sustainable development, seeking to foster stronger ties of friendship and cooperation while creating an enabling environment to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Beyond strengthening bilateral relations, the MoU sets a framework for expanding cooperation across trade, investment, and other economic sectors. It highlights a mutual ambition to diversify areas of economic and international collaboration.
Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Egypt’s Minister of Planning, emphasized the importance of the Egypt-Vietnam Joint Committee, describing it as an essential platform for fostering economic ties and international partnerships. Over five previous sessions, the committee has played a vital role in deepening economic relations and facilitating constructive dialogue between government bodies and business communities in both countries.
The Minister noted that the MoU paves the way for broader collaboration, supporting efforts to advance joint projects in strategic sectors such as the digital economy, climate change, green development, renewable energy, industrial localization, and logistics services. Active engagement from the private sector will be instrumental in turning these ambitions into tangible initiatives.
Additionally, the agreement outlines joint efforts in policy dialogue, knowledge sharing, capacity building, and the exchange of best practices across agreed-upon domains, setting a strong foundation for sustainable and impactful cooperation.
