Egypt, Huawei Advance AI Health Data Hub Plans Following China MoU
Egypt’s Healthcare Authority (EHA) is moving forward with Huawei to establish a national center for health data science and AI applications, the Cabinet said Thursday, following a memorandum of understanding signed in China in April.
EHA head Ahmed El-Sobky met with Huawei’s First Vice President, Wind Li Junfeng, on July 17 to review progress. The planned center will serve as a hub for innovative healthcare technologies, supporting Egypt’s digital transformation in the medical sector.
El-Sobky highlighted that the EHA now manages more than 6 million electronic medical records and 500 million AI-enhanced radiology images. The partnership also includes a push toward green digital transformation using energy-efficient smart systems and intelligent monitoring tools.
Huawei will also support Egypt’s development of smart medical cities, integrating AI and IoT to improve healthcare service delivery across the country.
