Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum said the nation’s regasification capacity during peak consumption in 2025 is expected to reach 2,700 million cubic feet per day through four floating units.

To achieve this, several agreements have been signed with leading global companies to lease modern floating regasification units, thereby increasing the system’s capacity and ensuring stable supply during peak periods.

Besides the HOEGH GALLEON floating unit stationed at Ain Sokhna in northeastern Egypt since 2024, the ENERGOS ESKIMO and ENERGOS POWER units have been linked to the docks at the city, in addition to ENERGOS Winter, which has been connected to the United Gas Derivatives Company dock in Damietta.

This will bring the total number of available regasification units in Egypt during summer peaks to four, contributing to securing gas supply needs for all sectors.

Furthermore, ENERGOS FORCE will arrive at the Aqaba port by the end of July, connecting it to the Arab gas pipeline, benefiting both Egypt and Qatar and enhancing the capacity to respond to emergencies this summer with a regasification capability of 750 million cubic feet per day.
