$265 Million MoU Signed to Expand Branded Hotel Capacity in Egypt
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly attended the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding between ADD Real Estate—part of Sami Saad Holding Group—and global hospitality leader Hyatt Hotels Group. The agreement reflects a shared vision to expand Egypt’s branded hospitality and residential offerings in anticipation of rising tourist numbers.
The MoU outlines an investment plan valued at approximately $265 million, dedicated to developing and increasing the supply of hotel rooms and serviced branded residences in several high-potential locations across the country. This initiative is part of Egypt’s broader strategy to elevate its position as a premier global tourism and investment destination.
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, underscored the significance of the agreement, noting that it demonstrates strong confidence from leading international entities in Egypt’s economic outlook and the rapid momentum of its tourism industry. He highlighted the importance of increasing the availability of world-class branded accommodations to meet the forecasted surge in tourist arrivals.
The Minister also emphasized that the Ministry fully supports investments of this nature, which fuse global quality standards with Egypt’s authentic cultural identity. Such projects, he added, help deliver unique, high-end hospitality experiences that reflect the richness of Egyptian heritage and meet the expectations of today’s international travelers.
This partnership builds on an existing track record of success. In 2022, ADD Real Estate relaunched the Hyatt brand in Egypt with the opening of Hyatt Regency Cairo West, a 250-room property that earned global acclaim. Building on that success, the company inaugurated Hyatt Centric Cairo West, a 304-room property that stands as Egypt and Africa’s first art-themed hotel. The hotel features the work of 11 renowned Egyptian artists who collaborated to create an immersive, locally inspired environment.
This new MoU signals continued momentum in strengthening Egypt’s tourism infrastructure through sustainable and culturally resonant investment.
