CBE announces 5-day bank closure for Eid Al-Adha holiday

According to the CBE statement, banks will be closed from Thursday, 5 June, to Monday, 9 June, with work resuming on Tuesday, 10 June.

The closure coincides with the Egyptian government's decision to grant ministries, public authorities, and state-owned companies a five-day public holiday during the same period.

The private sector also gets five days off.

Eid Al-Adha, which begins on Friday, 6 June, is one of the two major Islamic holidays and marks the start of the Hajj pilgrimage season.
