In a significant step towards elevating Egypt’s pharmaceutical industry, Gypto Pharma—also known as Egypt’s Medicine City—has entered into a strategic partnership with U.S.-based Dua Pharmaceuticals. The collaboration is designed to strengthen local manufacturing capabilities and help Gypto Pharma obtain accreditation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly hailed the agreement as a milestone that will bring cutting-edge American technologies and expertise to the country. He emphasized that the partnership supports the government’s broader vision of securing FDA certification and positioning Egypt as a competitive player in global pharmaceutical markets.

Amr Mamdouh, Chairman and Managing Director of Gypto Pharma, explained that the alliance will focus on expanding the company’s production capacity through the installation of new production lines and advanced systems that meet FDA standards. The ultimate goal is to unlock access to the U.S. pharmaceutical market—one of the world’s largest and most demanding.

Mamdouh also highlighted recent developments, noting that Gypto Pharma has sealed strategic agreements with seven international firms for co-manufacturing and technology transfer. In parallel, the company has rolled out a diverse portfolio of high-quality, affordably priced essential medications.
