Egypt’s Investment Minister Meets Spanish Hydrogen Association to Discuss Hydrogen Opportunities


During his current visit to Spain. The Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade meets the members of the Spanish Hydrogen Association to review investment opportunities and positions in the Egyptian market in the field of hydrogen production.


In the context of his current visit to Spain, Eng. Hassan Al-Khatib met with Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Mr. Javier Bray Sanchez, President of the Spanish Hydrogen Association, and members of the Association, where the meeting reviewed the opportunities and investment opportunities in the Egyptian market in the field of hydrogen production.


The Minister said that the Egyptian market has many distinctive investment opportunities in the field of hydrogen production, in the framework of the current country's trends to expand in green energy projects and increase its contribution to energy production in Egypt and export to regional and international markets, referring to the Ministry's keenness to provide all support to the companies that are member of the Investment Association The expansion of the Egyptian market.


"Al-Khatib" explained that the meeting reviewed the activities of the association, which includes 430 members working in the field of hydrogen and its related activities, including renewable energy developers, equipment and component manufacturers, engineering, contracting, oil, gas, industrial gas companies and the transport sector.


 


The minister added that during the meeting, a delegation including a number of companies member of the association was agreed to visit Egypt to learn about the investment opportunities available in the field of hydrogen production, as well as to hold meetings with research centers, universities and partners interested in the sector.


 


"Al-Khatib" noted that the meeting reviewed the measures and procedures that the Egyptian government is currently adopting related to financial, monetary and commercial policies aimed at facilitating investors and facilitating Egypt's foreign trade movement.


 


On his side, Mr. Javier Sanchez, president of the Spanish Hydrogen Association, praised the positions and great potential of Egypt in the field of hydrogen production in the economic zone of the Suez Canal, and the competitive and price advantages of Egypt, pointing out that the next period will see decisions by the European Union to provide new advantages for hydrogen production.


 


Sanchez pointed to Spain's current trends to develop a network of ports and infrastructure to bolster its role in increasing reliance on hydrogen during the next phase.
