Egypt declines debt of budget agencies in FY2023/2024

Egypt has reduced the debt of budget agencies to 89% of GDP in FY2023/2024, reflecting positive economic adjustments.

Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk shared that the government has successfully reduced the budget deficit to 89 percent of GDP, with external debt decreasing by about $3 billion during FY2023/2024.

 

He made this announcement during a panel discussion with members of the Rotary Clubs of Nasr City, New Cairo, and 10th of Ramadan.

 

Kouchouk highlighted the government's commitment to creating an open "dialogue" with both the business community and the public to ensure their active participation in shaping economic policies and financial strategies.

 

He further elaborated that achieving financial discipline is essential, focusing on policies that encourage investment and entrepreneurship to foster economic growth.
