Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat discussed, at the end of his visit to China, prospects for co-operation and partnership, as well as the latest developments related to establishing a production line to localise the manufacture of high- and extra-high-voltage cable terminations.

The meeting also reviewed the company’s expertise in manufacturing high- and extra-high-voltage equipment, particularly medium- and extra-high-voltage cable terminations and accessories up to 750 kV, as well as hybrid gas-insulated transmission lines.

These systems serve as a smart alternative to conventional cables and overhead lines, helping reduce costs, extend operational lifespan and provide transmission capacity of up to 8,000 amperes with high safety standards against fire and melting risks.

The technology relies on aluminum alloy conductors insulated within gas-charged lines, reducing technical losses by more than 60 percent compared to traditional cables.

In his meeting with Jutiang Group officials, Esmat discussed cooperation in establishing solar power plants.

He noted that Egypt has a large and diversified domestic market, as well as broad regional markets across its geographic surroundings, supported by electrical interconnection projects and power trade agreements with neighboring countries.
