In a meeting with Electricity Minister Mahmoud Esmat Wednesday, French Ambassador in Cairo Éric Chevallier talked about accelerating steps to generate reliable and safe power energy through upgrading distribution transformers and supporting projects meant to develop the production of carbon-free hydrogen.
The get-together was a chance to reiterate French support for energy transition in Egypt to meet its ambitious goal to generate 42 percent of clean energy by 2030, the Embassy said in a statement.
France cooperates with Egypt in energy transition for more than 10 years
The French Embassy in Cairo says that Paris has been cooperating with the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity through the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) for more than 10 years to support the transition to clean energy.
