Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting on Saturday to follow up on the status of work being implemented under the Great Transfiguration Project in St. Catherine.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Sherif al-Sherbiny, Head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction Mahmoud Nassar, and Assistant Minister of Housing for Technical Affairs Abdel-Khaleq Ibrahim.

Madbouly stressed the government’s keen desire to implement the directives of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, regarding the development of the site of the Great Transfiguration in the city of Saint Catherine, in order to take the utmost advantage of the area’s unique features.

He added that the government seeks to make this holy spot a global destination for tourists, in a manner befitting its spiritual, religious, archaeological and historical value, being that it is the cradle of the three Abrahamic religions.

The St. Catherine Area is registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List due to its unique historical, religious and environmental landmarks.
