NERIC, Eastern R&E enter new cooperation to boost railway

The National Egyptian Railway Industries Company (NERIC) and Eastern R&E have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance the production of railway rolling stock, according to a statement from the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).

 

The main focus of this collaborative effort includes the provision of components for railway vehicles and the manufacturing of freight cars. 

 

Additionally,  this MoU aims to promote the production of railroad cars, facilitate technical cooperation, transfer technology, and ensure manufacturing process quality.

 

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of SCZone, during a reception for a delegation from the Korean-Egyptian Development Association (KEDA), led by Mr. Kang Woong Sik, Chairman of KEDA, along with other members and officials from the association, as well as officials from EASTERN R&E.

El-Din expressed great excitement about attracting Korean investments.

 

He highlighted that the collaboration between Korean companies, Eastern R&E, and NERIC opens up opportunities for further partnerships in SCZONE's targeted sectors.

 

In addition, the delegation visited the Sokhna Integrated Industrial Zone, where they inspected the HENGTONG Egypt factory, which specializes in the manufacturing of electrical products and optical fibers.

 

 They also visited the facilities of Media Egypt Company, a producer of home appliances. Both of these companies operate within the industrial development project known as TEDA - Egypt.

 

Furthermore, the delegation had the opportunity to tour the factory of the National Company for Steel Industries (NSF) in collaboration with the Swedish industrial developer.
