EUROCONTROL Praises Egypt's Efficiency in Managing Air Traffic during Exceptional Circumstances

The daily report issued by the European Safety and Security Authority (Eurocontrol) praised the efficient performance of the Egyptian side, through the elaborate planning of air traffic management in the Egyptian airspace, which appeared in an honorable and distinguished manner in light of the closure of the airspaces of some neighboring countries, which led to an increase in operating rates and the number of aircraft and an intensification of Pressure on Egyptian airspace.


Eurocontrol explained that the air traffic management in Egyptian airspace immediately handled things smoothly and safely, which proves the efficiency and skill of the human elements working in the air control and navigation system, especially during their dealings with professionalism and high accuracy in exceptional circumstances and their commitment to the highest international security and safety standards.


 


Eurocontrol also praised the great and effective role of Egypt and Saudi Arabia, as they immediately activated an emergency plan between the Egyptian and Saudi aviation regions and determined specific routes with high precision that helped accommodate emergency air traffic during those exceptional circumstances.


The Authority expressed its appreciation for the performance of the civil aviation authorities and the navigation and air control system in the two countries, for their great effort and tangible role in dealing with this emergency situation quickly and with high efficiency, as full coordination was immediately established between the two sides and the necessary support was provided to accommodate the incoming air traffic resulting from the accident. Many aircraft were diverted from their usual air route to both Egyptian and Saudi airspace.
