Kaolin deposits are also found in three main locations. the first of which is in Wadi Netash, Masbaa Salama, and Farsh Al-Ghizlan, all in the Sinai Peninsula, the second is on the western coast of the Gulf of Suez in Abu Al-Darraj and Galala Al-Bahriyya, and the third is in the Kalabsha and Aswan region.

In order to exploit it, Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of the Public Business Sector, witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Sinai Manganese Company, affiliated with the Holding Company for Chemical Industries in the Abu Zenima region in South Sinai, and the Spanish “Global Attack” company, in order to establish a new kaolin calcining plant and manufacture it to produce the kaolin needed for the iron industries.

Dr. Mahmoud Esmat emphasized that the new factory and the manufacturing plan in its various stages, in addition to the economic return that raises the value of a ton from $100 to $400, "is of great importance in the way of localizing makers and introducing modern technologies to produce products that are used in vital and strategic industries."

He further noted that the company possesses large reserves of the raw material whose economic value can be increased through transformative industries.

He also explained that the project aims to turn Egyptian crude into a high-quality component for use in many industries such as: refractories, rubber, plastic, fiberglass, ceramics, paper, coatings, and paints to meet the needs of the local market and export.
