The Egyptian Agriculture Minister, El Sayed Al-Quseir, highlighted the significant growth in the country's agricultural exports, with Egypt successfully entering 93 new markets over the past decade and exporting over 400 agricultural commodities to 160 countries. Notably, in 2020, Egypt entered the Japanese market with citrus fruits and is currently working to expand its exports to include grapes and pomegranates. Additionally, Egyptian potatoes have gained access to the Brazilian market, and tangerines to El Salvador, with ongoing efforts to open more international markets through official diplomatic channels.

Al-Quseir noted a record increase in fresh agricultural exports in 2023, reaching approximately 7.4 million tons, up by nearly 1 million tons from 2022, and valued at $3.7 billion. The value of manufactured agricultural exports stood at $5.1 billion. Furthermore, he emphasized Egypt's leading global position in the export of oranges and frozen strawberries for the third consecutive year.
