Schneider Electric discusses building solar power projects in Egypt's Sinai

During a meeting between Fouda and Schneider Electric officials, led by Sebastian Reyes, the company's president for Northeast Africa and the Arab Levant, parties explored opportunities for collaboration in the realm of clean energy.

The focal point of their deliberations was to start projects for expanding electricity provision and water extraction for Bedouin communities.

Additionally, they explored the expansion of agricultural greenhouses utilizing solar energy, aligning with Schneider Electric's commitment to fostering the development of local communities.

The enduring strategic partnership between Schneider Electric and the South Sinai Governorate, spanning seven years, has seen the successful implementation of numerous projects.

These initiatives contribute to sustainability, combat climate change, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

In 2022, Schneider Electric announced the first phase of the pre-opening of the control centre of South Sinai in Sharm El-Sheikh on the sidelines of COP27. The control centre has been built and equipped by the company to serve all South Sinai cities.

The Distribution Control Centre in Sharm El-Sheikh is the first to be developed using Schneider Electric’s solutions outside Greater Cairo.

Schneider Electric invested a total of 300 million euros in Egypt over the past 35 years. The company owns several assets in the country, including the Distribution Centre in 10th of Ramadan City and the Engineering Excellence Centre.
