Egypt-Russia Trade Exchange Records $5.1 Billion: CAPMAS

The value of Egyptian exports to Russia was $469 million during the first 11 months of 2023, compared to $543 million, year-on-year, a decrease of 13.

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) expected the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Russia to increase by about 14% to a value of $5.1 billion, during the first 11 months of 2023, compared to $4.5 billion in the same period in 2022.


The report added that the value of Egyptian exports to Russia was $469 million during the first 11 months of 2023, compared to $543 million, year-on-year, a decrease of 13.7%.


On the other hand, the volume of Egyptian imports from Russia reached $4.6 billion during the first 11 months of 2023, compared to $3.9 billion, year-on-year, an increase of 17.5%.


The most prominent commodities that Egypt exported to Russia included vegetables and fruits worth $380.3 million, plastics worth $20.3 million, grains and oily fruits worth $10.3 million, machinery and electrical appliances worth $8.4 million, and dairy products worth $7.4 million.


While the most important commodity groups that Egypt imported from Russia were grains worth $2.5 billion, grease and vegetable oils worth $475.2 million, and iron and steel worth $555 million.


The report added that these commodities also included fuel and mineral oils worth $350.2 million, and timber worth $276.7 million.
