Egypt, China to produce solar power, semiconductors

Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, engaged in a meeting with China National Building Material (CNBM) and Chinese Hony Capital to explore potential collaborations in localizing the production of solar power station components and semiconductors.

The prime minister affirmed Egypt's active commitment to fostering its renewable energy industry, particularly in manufacturing components for clean energy projects.

The government's objective is to stimulate the growth of clean energy facilities and elevate the overall proportion of renewable energy in the country's energy mix, Madbouly added.

In line with the collaborative efforts between China and Egypt to bolster renewable energy, Egypt's Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) recently in October, signed multiple agreements to establish new energy projects during the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for international cooperation in Beijing, China.
