Egypt's constructive involvement shines at COP28
On the sidelines of COP28, Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the Egyptian Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), held pivotal meetings with global energy and investment leaders. Discussions with companies such as Saudi Arabia's Acwa Power, Denmark's AP Moller Capital, and Germany's Wilo SE culminated in constructive dialogues on collaborative ventures.
Moreover, key agreements were inked on 3 December, as SCZONE and the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy joined forces with Norwegian energy company Scatec and prominent international financial institutions like the African Development Bank (AfDB) and British International Investment (BII) to launch three impactful green energy projects in Egypt.
Egypt's commitment to environmental resilience was further underscored by Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat's signing of a letter of intent for Egypt to join the Blue Mediterranean Partnership, opening doors for financing blue economy initiatives.
