Egypt, Qatar to boost cooperation over governance and sustainable development

Qatar recently announced that it will invest around $1.5 billion into Egypt’s industrial sector in 2024.

Egypt and Qatar is in discussions to boost their cooperation across a number of files, including governance and sustainable development, in addition to investment cooperation between the two countries.


This took place during a meeting between the Egyptian Minister of Planning, Hala Al Said and the Qatari Minister of International Cooperation Lulwa al Khater today.


During the meeting, Said reflected on the latest update of Egypt Vision 2030 that was added recently to the website of the ministry, saying that the ministry is responsible for preparing short-term, medium-term and long-term plans.


Qatar recently announced that it will invest around $1.5 billion into Egypt’s industrial sector in 2024, the announcement was made during the Qatar - Egypt Investment Forum.


In addition to that, the CEO of the Qatari Al Mana Group, Saud Omar Al Mana, announced plans to pump initial investments of almost $60 million into the Egyptian market in 2024 to establish a car assembly plant in Egypt.


Al Mana added that his company is eyeing the Suez Canal Economic Zone because there are many investment and export incentives there.
