Egypt's Unemployment Rate Rises Slightly to 7.1% in Q3 of 2023

The unemployment rate in Egypt during the third quarter of 2023 (July-September) rose slightly to 7.1% from 7% in the second quarter, according to data from the Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) issued on Wednesday.

The number of unemployed people increased in Q3 of 2023 to 2.263 million people, compared to 2.169 million unemployed people in Q2 of 2023.

The number of unemployed males in the third quarter reached 1.254 million people, while the number of unemployed females reached 1,009, according to the agency’s data.
