SODIC And EME Partner To Install 400 Rooftop Solar Plants At VYE Development In Egypt

SODIC, a real estate developer, and Electro-Mechanical for Energy (EME) have entered into an agreement to install 400 rooftop solar plants at SODIC’s VYE development. This project, the largest residential solar initiative in Africa, boasts a 2-megawatt capacity and an annual production potential of 3.5 gigawatt-hours. It is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1,600 tons, equivalent to planting 35,000 trees.


The contract signing involved Ayman Amer, General Manager of SODIC, and Mohamed El-Sheikh, CEO of EME, along with EME’s partners, Suntech for Solar Modules and Sungrow for Inverters, two major international companies in the field.
