Egypt's government, led by the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Issa, has announced an initiative to boost tourism and attract 30 million tourists annually by 2028. The plan stands on various promotional and marketing campaigns with tour organizers and relevant stakeholders. The goal is to position Egypt as a desirable tourist destination in diverse markets. They plan to achieve this by collaborating effectively with international airline companies to increase the number of airline seats available for visitors to Egypt each year. Alongside, anticipation of the projected growth in tourist arrivals, the government is working on expanding its hotel infrastructure. By the end of 2024, Egypt expects a significant increase in the number of hotel rooms, aligning with the expected surge in tourists in the upcoming period. The positive developments are backed by the recent report from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), revealing tourism sector's growth of 26.8 percent, reaching $13.6 billion in the fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $10.7 billion in the previous fiscal year.
