Egypt’s Planning Minister Hala El Said recently hosted a delegation of Japanese investors, led by Kanazawa Yukio, the owner of Titan Capital. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss potential areas of cooperation and present investment opportunities in Egypt. Other significant attendees included Khaled Abbas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Administrative Capital Company. El Said informed the delegation on the promising investment opportunities available in Egypt, including infrastructure projects, state-owned companies, and hotels. These could be acquired through various arrangements like ownership, usufruct, concession, or BOT systems. The government is on the process of readying assets and companies which will be offered for investment to the private sector, either directly or through the Egyptian Sovereign Fund. The goal is to stimulate the private sector and to attract both local and foreign investments to Egypt's capital markets. It also aims to increase the private sector's participation in Egypt's economic development. El Said also highlighted Egypt’s commitment to dialogue and partnerships in development with the private sector and civil society. Finally, she mentioned the key features of the Egyptian economy, including its diversity and the promising sectors such as agriculture, industry, telecommunications and information technology, and logistics. Egypt's strategic location as the gateway to Africa and Europe also offers attractive economic opportunities. Kanazawa commended Egypt’s progress towards its Vision 2030 and showed interest in the investment opportunities particularly in new and smart cities. This meeting portrays Egypt's constant efforts to present and maximize its investment potential to foreign investors.
