Egypt's Exports Record Significant Development, Reaching $311.7 Billion in the Last Decade

Egyptian exports have observed remarkable growth, reaching a total value of $311.7 billion over the last decade despite fluctuations.

Egyptian exports have experienced significant development over the past ten years according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS). The aggregate value of these exports has reached about $311.7 billion during the decade. In 2013, the exports were at $29 billion, reducing to $27.5 billion in 2014 reflecting a dip of 5.1%. Further decreasing by 20.2%, the value was at $22 billion in 2015. However, there was a turn of events in 2016 with an increase of 2.3%, totaling $22.5 billion. Over the subsequent years, the values came out as $26.3 billion in 2017, $29.3 billion in 2018, and $30.5 billion in 2019, marking increases of 16.8%, 11.5%, and 4.1% respectively. There was a slight decline of 3.9% in 2020 bringing the value to $29.3 billion. Remarkable growth was noted in 2021 and 2022 with values of $43.6 billion and $51.6 billion indicating increases of 48.8% and 18.3% respectively. The exports mainly constitute finished goods with the top 10 importing countries in the first half of 2023 being Turkey, USA, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Libya, UAE, UK, Spain, France, and Germany.
